WorkflowMiner: a New Workflow Patterns and Performance Analysis tool
نویسندگان
چکیده
Engineering workflow applications is becoming more and more complex, involving numerous interacting business objects within considerable processes. Analysing the interaction structure of those complex applications will enable them to be well understood, controlled, and redesigned. Our contribution to workflow patterns analysis is a statistical technique to discover workflow patterns from event-based log. Our approach is characterised by a ”local” workflow patterns discovery that allows to cover partial results through a dynamic programming algorithm. Those local discovered workflow patterns are then composed iteratively until discovering the global workflow model. Our approach has been implemented within our prototype WorkflowMiner3 that we present through this demonstration paper as follows: section 2 describes detailedWorkflowMiner design architecture, and section 3 presents a demonstration case study on which we base our tool demonstration. Theoretical aspects are to be seen in [1].

DiscopFlow: A new Tool for Discovering Organizational Structures and Interaction Protocols in WorkFlow
This work deals with Workflow Mining (WM) a very active and promising research area. First, in this paper we give a critical and comparative study of three representative WM systems of this area: the ProM, InWolve and WorkflowMiner systems. The comparison is made according to quality criteria that we have defined such as the capacity to filter and convert a Workflow log, the capacity to discove...
متن کاملDiscovering and Evaluating Workflow Organizational Patterns from Events Log: An Agent based Approach
This paper contributes to address an important issue in Workflow mining: organizational patterns mining issue. First, it reveals a critical and comparative study of three representative Workflow mining systems (InWolve, WorkflowMiner and ProM). The major drawback of these systems is their inability to deal with organizational patterns mining. This work considers organizational patterns as being...
متن کاملDescription of Workflow Patterns Based on P/T Nets
The theoretical foundation of workflow has become a hot problem. And, Petri nets is famous for the feature of describing the concurrent semantics with rich analysis techniques(CY.Yuan, 1998). Therefore, Petri nets is an ideal modelling tool of workflow process(WfMC, 1995). In (Aalst, 1998; Aalst et al., 2000; Aalst, 2002), Aalst presents four special kinds of transitions, four triggers and twen...
متن کاملExtraction and Comparison of the Discharge Process in a Teaching Hospital
Background and Objectives: Patient discharge process starts from the point of the initial order of the physician order and continues to the discharge time of a patient and the release of the bed that was allocated to him/her. Lengthening the patient discharge process is regarded as a negative factor in the management of beds; this lengthy process leads to delay...
متن کاملWorkflow Data Patterns: Identification, Representation and Tool Support
Workflow systems seek to provide an implementation vehicle for complex, recurring business processes. Notwithstanding this common objective, there are a variety of distinct features offered by commercial workflow management systems. These differences result in significant variations in the ability of distinct tools to represent and implement the plethora of requirements that may arise in contem...
